Fremantle Road Closure Update
Fremantle Traffic bridge closure from February 2026.
The Fremantle Traffic Bridge is scheduled to close in February 2026 for a period of up to 12 months to enable construction of Australia’s first extradosed bridge featuring cantilevers and cable support. Once complete, the new structure will create a distinctive gateway to Fremantle (Walyalup).
The closure is expected to have a significant impact on the surrounding road network, and commuters are advised to allow additional travel time and plan their journeys accordingly.
