What a week it’s been on the Gold Coast! Fremantle SLSC delivered another strong and inspiring performance from our Youth, Masters, and Open Athletes at the 2025 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships, reminding the nation of our club’s fierce spirit, sportsmanship, and depth of talent across all age groups.
From the sand to the surf, our athletes shone across a wide range of events. Standout performances included Courtney Sutherland in the Short Board Riding, where she managed to claim the Silver Medal. Also, Tracy Shaw, Joel Moore, and the Fremantle HCM Surf Boat Crew—composed of Nick Palmer, Michael Cameron, Paul Kohler, Ken Ringrose, and sweep Paul Hardy—placed in the Aussie Final with countless personal bests.
Our Open competitors held their own against the best in the country, with several making it through the rounds and fighting hard in tough, high-pressure conditions. The camaraderie on and off the beach was second to none—whether it was cheering from the sidelines, sharing recovery tips, or celebrating those hard-earned finishes, the Freo family spirit was on full display.
Beyond the medals and placings, the 2025 Aussies were a celebration of everything we love about surf lifesaving—resilience, teamwork, and the thrill of racing in the elements. A huge thank you goes out to our coaches, team managers, sponsors, and all the volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to support our team. We couldn’t have done it without you.
As we return home, sun-kissed and salty, we reflect not only on our results but on the memories made and the legacy we continue to build. Fremantle SLSC is more than a club—it’s a community, and Aussies 2025 was another proud chapter in our story.
Here’s to the off-season grind, and to coming back even stronger in 2026.
Go Freo!
