Youth Rottnest Day 2024

Last Sunday, the Youth embarked on an exhilarating adventure on Rottnest Island, immersing themselves in the island’s pristine beauty and endless possibilities for exploration.
.
Setting off on the ferry at 8:30 from B Shed, we collected lunch rolls at the Rottnest Bakery and then rode to Little Salmon Bay for a swim in the clear waters. The weather was pretty perfect for the whole day.
Β
Our journey continued to Mary Cove, where the secluded beach welcomed us with soft sands and tranquil waters, perfect for moments of reflection and connection with nature, as well as lunch and some first aid training on slings and marine creature stings.
Conditions were excellent for exploring the rock ledges and pools around Mary Cove, and groups of Youth were able to swim quite far away while enjoying each other’s company and keeping each other safe in the water.
Β
Later on, we did a “club swim” around the boat moorings at Longreach.
Later in the afternoon, the Youth were given free time, cycling along coastal trails, discovering hidden coves, simply basking in the island’s natural environment or hanging out at the Bakery or General Store. The AGMs were really happy with how all the Youth contributed and participated, and the day was a testament to the spirit of adventure and the joy of exploration shared among friends amidst Rottnest’s varied landscapes.

Thanks to all the AGMs, including Maddy Stockden, the Youth Manager, The Office Admin Team, support staff, Club management, parents and Youth for making it such a sensational day!
